“Five gold shop” is a literal translation of「五金舖」in Chinese, meaning hardware store. The “five golds” loosely refers to the common metal kinds, including gold, silver, brass, iron, and tin.

Fivegold Jewelry pieces are inspired by earthy and organic forms and characterized by the contrast of raw and refined, primitive and modern. Most pieces are one-of-a-kind design, just like the found artifacts formed in nature.

All pieces are designed and handcrafted by Xuefei Yan in Brooklyn, New York. She has practiced architecture design in Shanghai, Denmark, and New York formally. Now she enjoys working with her hands to find form and explore materiality.
